Last Updated: March 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how TapReply ("Company," "we," "us," and "our") collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our mobile application and website at https://tapreply.app (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you sign in using Apple Sign In, we receive your name and email address (or a private relay email if you choose to hide your email). We do not receive or store your Apple ID password.
  • Personalization Settings: Custom name, gender, and tone preferences you configure within the app.
  • Support Inquiries: Information you provide when contacting us for support.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Screenshots and Images: When you use TapReply, you provide screenshots of conversations for AI analysis. Text is extracted locally on your device using Apple's Vision framework (OCR). The extracted text is sent to our backend API for AI processing. We do not store your screenshots or the extracted text after processing is complete.
  • Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage analytics to improve the app experience, such as feature usage frequency and app performance metrics.
  • Crash Reports: We use Sentry to collect crash reports and diagnostic data to identify and fix bugs. This may include device type, operating system version, and error stack traces. No personal conversation data is included in crash reports.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Apple Sign In: Authentication data provided by Apple when you sign in.
  • Payment Information: Subscription and purchase data managed by Apple through the App Store and processed via RevenueCat. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details.

3. How We Process Your Data

3.1 Screenshot and Conversation Processing

TapReply's core functionality works as follows:

  1. You select or capture a screenshot of a conversation on your device.
  2. Text is extracted locally on your device using Apple's Vision framework (on-device OCR). The screenshot image itself is not sent to our servers.
  3. The extracted text is sent to our secure backend API, which uses AI to analyze the conversation context and generate reply suggestions.
  4. Reply suggestions are returned to your device.
  5. The extracted text and generated replies are not stored on our servers after the response is delivered. Processing is ephemeral.

3.2 Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
